All services · Indianapolis & all 92 Indiana counties

Home care services in Indianapolis, built on one quality standard.

Seven services across three categories: non-medical home care for seniors, Medicaid Waiver and Direct Support Professional services for individuals with IDD, and medical staffing for Indiana healthcare organizations. One CQL-accredited team.

Most home care agencies offer the same shortlist and hope you don't notice they're cutting corners on the parts you can't see. We built Sovereign the other way. Seven services, one quality framework, and the same standard whether the bill goes to a family, the Medicaid Waiver, or a hospital staffing manager.

Our process

How care begins

01

Call 317-654-4609

One short call to tell us what's going on at home. We'll tell you in plain language what we can help with and what we can't.

02

Free in-home consultation

We come to you. Same week, usually same day if the need is urgent. Your family meets the person who would lead the care plan.

03

Care begins

A caregiver is matched. Your family gets a weekly check-in from Sovereign, not a monthly invoice with nothing attached.

Why Sovereign

One standard, every service

01

Held to CQL

The Council on Quality and Leadership accredits Sovereign against the same standards used for the country's most complex care environments. Most Indiana home care agencies are not CQL-accredited. We built around it from day one.

02

Medicaid Waiver Ready

We accept private pay, long-term care insurance, Workers' Comp, Medicaid, and Medicare. We're one of the few Indiana agencies that handles the Waiver paperwork start-to-finish, including Residential Habilitation and Attendant Care.

03

DSPs, Not Just Aides

Sovereign employs Direct Support Professionals trained for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Not a checklist. Not a rotation. Real relationships, on a quality framework built for IDD care.

Questions, answered

The ones families actually ask

What's the difference between home care and home health?

Home care is non-medical. It covers companionship, hygiene, meal prep, light housekeeping, medication reminders, mobility help, and transportation. It's paid privately, through long-term care insurance, or through the Indiana Medicaid Waiver.

Home health is medical. Skilled nursing, IV therapy, wound care, physical therapy. Covered by Medicare, ordered by a doctor. Sovereign provides home care, not home health.

How quickly can care start?

Most private-pay starts happen the same week as the consultation. Medicaid Waiver starts depend on where you are in the Waiver process. If you already have an approved Notice of Action, we can usually begin within a few business days. If you don't yet, we'll help you through that process before care begins.

Will my family have the same caregiver every time?

That's the goal. Continuity is built into our model, not bolted onto it. Your family is matched with a primary caregiver who learns your loved one's routine, preferences, and quirks. If they're sick or take a day off, the substitute is briefed by name on what matters to your family. Not a stranger handed a clipboard.

How much does home care cost in Indiana?

Rates vary by service type, hours per week, and whether care is hourly or live-in. Private-pay home care in Indiana typically falls between national averages, and Medicaid Waiver services are billed directly to the state. We give plain-language pricing on the consultation call. No padded brochures, no "starting at" sleight of hand.

Do you serve all 92 Indiana counties?

Yes. Sovereign's caregivers and Direct Support Professionals serve families across all 92 Indiana counties, with our deepest staffing in Marion, Lake, Porter, and Tippecanoe. If you're outside those four, we'll be honest about start time on the consultation call.

What is CQL accreditation, and why does it matter?

CQL stands for the Council on Quality and Leadership. It's a third-party accreditation body that audits providers against person-centered outcomes, not just regulatory compliance. The state of Indiana uses CQL standards to evaluate its most complex care providers. Most home care agencies in Indiana aren't accredited by CQL. We are. It's the framework we built around from year one.

Are your caregivers background-checked and insured?

Every Sovereign caregiver and Direct Support Professional is background-checked, fingerprinted, drug-tested, bonded, and insured before their first shift. We carry full general and professional liability coverage. The documentation is available on request.
