Family caregivers give everything. Respite care exists so giving everything does not mean losing yourself in the process.
Sovereign provides temporary, professional care so the family member who carries the load can step away, to work, to a wedding, to a doctor of their own, or just to sleep. Our caregivers step into the existing routine, follow the plan you have built, and keep your loved one safe, fed, and engaged while you are gone.
Respite can be a single afternoon, an overnight, several days, or a standing weekly block. For families enrolled in Structured Family Care, respite is also the relief valve that keeps the arrangement sustainable. However long you need, your loved one is cared for by someone trained, not left with a stranger reading a checklist.

Ways to cover care
We handle the paperwork most agencies hand back to you, including Indiana Medicaid Waiver applications, start to finish.
Medicaid Waiver
We complete and submit the Waiver paperwork for eligible Indiana families, including Attendant Care.
Private Pay
Flexible hourly, daily, or live-in arrangements with clear rates and no long-term lock-in.
LTC Insurance
Long-term care insurance is welcome. We bill directly and help you read the policy fine print.

Respite care, answered
As short as a few hours or as long as several days. Many families use a recurring weekly block; others book respite around a specific trip, surgery, or event. We build the schedule around your life, not the other way around.
They overlap but differ. Respite comes to your home and covers your loved one there. Adult Day Services is a daytime program your loved one attends at a center. Both give the family caregiver a break, and some families use both.
Yes. We provide overnight and multi-day respite, including coverage if you are recovering from your own procedure or traveling out of town.
For eligible individuals, yes. Indiana Waiver programs include respite benefits, and Structured Family Care arrangements often include respite relief. We help you understand what your loved one qualifies for and handle the paperwork.
We keep caregivers as consistent as possible so respite feels familiar. The caregiver is briefed on the full routine and preferences before the first visit, and we aim to send the same person for recurring respite.
For planned respite, give us a little lead time and we will have everything ready. For urgent situations, call us, we move quickly and will tell you honestly what we can cover and when.
